Summer Sing & Shout

(From the September, 2009 issue of Pineville Today)

A fun day was had by all who attended the "Summer Sing and Shout" Festival held for residents in the Village at Carolina Place, an active adult community comprised of The Dorchester, The Manor and The Cottages. The event, which took place at noon on July 22nd, featured a visit by Pineville Mayor, George Fowler, music by the banjo-strumming Jeff Whittington and his band, and a performance by 16 year old singing sensation Rachel Tripp. The Charlotte Senior Cheerleaders, pictured here, also added to the entertainment by performing several of their routines. Hot dogs with all the trimmings, along with watermelon and fresh-squeezed lemonade were served up to residents and guests while WBTV captured it all on film to be featured on the 6:00 p.m. news in an effort to show just how much fun seniors can have. "It's all about choices at our community and what a wonderful way you can choose to spend your day" said Program Director, Deana Bell.
